Our Story

About Sandy Blooms

A guesthouse on Ukulhas, one of the Maldives' most celebrated local islands.

Where the island does the talking

Sandy Blooms sits on Ukulhas, known for its pristine house reef, bicycle-friendly lanes, and unhurried hospitality. We opened our doors as a family-run guesthouse because we believe the best version of the Maldives is the one that actually exists — not the one on a resort brochure.

Every room is considered rather than decorated. Every detail, quietly in service of a stay that feels personal, not packaged.

The reef is 100 metres away. The café on the corner serves the best tuna curry on the island. And the sunsets, as ever, are free.

What we believe in

Three things we never compromise on

Genuine hospitality

We reply to every message personally. When you arrive, someone is there. When something goes wrong, we fix it.

Local first

Our food, our excursion operators, our staff — all from Ukulhas. Tourism that gives back to the island it depends on.

Quiet quality

Clean rooms, firm mattresses, cold water when you need it. The basics done properly, then a few things that surprise you.
